Loading... Please wait...I am an unabashed, unashamed, out-of-the-closet fan of ATC, and in particular the SCM50A and SCM110.
Of all the wondrous ATC range, to my ears these monitors are the best balanced, most revealing and most trustworthy for an average to medium room. Maybe it's the balance of nine inch bass and ATC's amazing three inch mid that give this system such a natural appeal, or maybe it's the cabinet design. Whatever the reason, these speakers shine where critical monitoring is a must. OK, so they're not cheap, but what value do you put on your ears? It's pointless mortgaging your house for the latest Protools HD rig or a rack of glitzy outboard if you can't trust your mix. In my book, monitors are the starting point for great recordings, and good monitors don't come better than these. Come and listen and then dig deep; these monitors are worth every penny.
I'm the kinda guy who likes to share his enthusiasm and spread joy , and to that end until further notice we'll be offering special deals on the ATC50A's to help convert the audio world to sonic bliss. We can arrange demos and I'll wax lyrical about these at the ring of a phone. Call me for our special price and hear happily ever after.
AN OVERVIEW
As multi-channel systems increases in popularity, it is easy to forget that the basic stereo pair of speakers at the front of the listening area remains an essential element.
Existing libraries of recorded music, the commitment of recording companies to stereo in its current form, and the new high resolution digital two-channel formats indicate that stereo will continue to be the main source of recorded music for the foreseeable future.
For these reasons ATC still regards the main stereo speaker pair as the foundation on which a high performance multi-channel system can be built. The new innovative T16 two-way active monitor is an ideal way to establish that foundation.
SCM50ASL Pro
The SCM50ASL Pro is an active 3-way system suitable for reference monitoring in medium sized rooms, with a 234mm Super Linear bass driver and ATC's unique SM75-150S mid range soft dome driver. The active design ensures optimum matching of six MOS-FET amp blocks to the drivers, providing plenty of transient headroom and maximum SPLs of up to 112dB. An LF contour control provides five bass boost settings and a flat reference response.
