Technical Support

Support conditions

If you are having technical problems with your equipment within or outside the Funky Junk warranty, our on-site technicians are here to help get you back up-and-running. Simply fill out this RMA form, to submit your repair request. You will then receive an RMA number and instructions on how to send us your goods for repair/servicing.
Funky Junk’s experienced in-house technical support department offers servicing and repairs for a wide range of vintage and new professional audio equipment, carried out by skilled and qualified technicians. Additionally, we can provide professional on-site installation support on request.

Please don’t send in equipment without first getting confirmation from us that we are able to service the item(s) and have provided a projected turnaround. Once we review the repair request, we will email you a job number and instructions on how to send the item to us.

Equipment we do not service includes:

  • Hi Fi
  • Semi Pro recording equipment (such as Mackie, Behringer etc)
  • Musical instruments
  • Digital fx boxes
  • Guitar Pedals Front line & back line (amp & speakers)
  • Digital multi-track & stereo recorders
  • Computers & DAW (including peripheral devices)
  • Camera or Video Microphones
  • Radio Microphones

Packing guidelines

Please follow these steps to ensure your equipment is sent safe and is not damaged in transit. Funky Junk will not accept any responsibility for any damage obtained during transit.


  • WRAPPING THE ITEM
    Make sure the item is wrapped properly before it goes into the box. For example use bubble wrap or something if it gets knocked then it wont cause any damage to the item.
  • CHOOSE A BOX
    Make sure you choose a box big enough for the item to go with enough space around it to give it some padding. For example foam packaging or even paper shreds can be used and is environmentally friendly. Recycle any packaging wherever possible here at Funky Junk we recycle all packaging and materials that come in and only buy in packaging where absolutely necessary.
  • SECURING PROPERLY
    Make sure the box is secured properly using strong packing tape with the Funky Junk address clearly visible on top.

Technical Support Costs

  • Cost per hour (minimum charge 1 hour)
  • Standard £75 ex VAT per hour plus parts
  • Microphones £95 ex VAT per hour plus parts
  • Wiring £50 ex VAT per hour plus parts

Funky Junk guarantees customers against the defects of goods, both new and used based on the following criteria.

Returns for Restocking Policy

Product returns for restocking are applicable to private customers only (non-business, non-professional). We will issue a refund/credit note if you are not satisfied with your purchase and notify us within 14 days of product receipt. The product must be returned in the original packaging and in the condition they were received. Return shipping costs will be prepaid by the buyer. This does not apply to Audio/Video and software products which are non-refundable. Shipping and handling charges to and from the delivery address are also non-refundable.

The Funky Junk Guarantee

Funky Junk guarantees customers against the defects of goods, both new and used based on the following criteria.

New Products

All new and ex-demo items carry a full manufacturer’s warranty, supported by Funky Junk. In the event that an item is damaged by the purchaser or that any unauthorised attempt is made to modify or repair it, all warranties are void.

Things to know

  • Unless you collect, use your own courier or it is otherwise stated, Funky Junk insures your shipment to be delivered in the condition described. Before signing for any delivery, please examine all items for signs of damage. If any damage is found, please ensure the delivering agent notes it on the release form before signing for the item. If an item has been damaged, ensure you retain all packaging in which the item was shipped and please immediately notify Funky Junk so we can register a claim with the shipping agent. Failure to do this will result in the liability for damage in transit reverting to the buyer.
  • In the unlikely event that your item develops a fault within the warranty period, you must notify us immediately, giving details of the fault and obtaining return authorisation from us prior to returning it. Our warranty is restricted to parts and labour and does not include shipping costs or any travel costs that we might incur.
  • While your item is being repaired we may supply, exchange or loan items to support you where possible but this is entirely at our discretion. No liability will be accepted by Funky Junk for the non-performance or breakdown of any equipment.

The Funky Junk Guarantee

Funky Junk guarantees customers against the defects of goods, both new and used based on the following criteria.

Used Products

  • All used outboard, microphones, amplifiers and monitors are fully serviced prior to sale and carry 3 month Funky Junk warranty, with the exception of microphone capsules, tubes and loudspeaker drivers unless otherwise stated.
  • Funky Junk Ltd reserve the right to offer a refund in the event that repairs to used items are not economical. Warranties on used goods are not transferable by the purchaser. In the event that an item is damaged by the purchaser or that any unauthorised attempt is made to modify or repair it, all warranties are void.
  • All multitrack machines, consoles and control surfaces are sold ‘as seen’ with no warranty given unless otherwise stated. In most cases we service multitrack machines and consoles prior to sale but please check the item description as this may not be the case for every item. Buyers are strongly advised to inspect these items in person or commission an independent technical report prior to purchase.

We always use leading products and materials in order to strike the right balance between quality and cost, with custom wiring available on request (Oxygen-free, gold-plated, etc). Shipping & Returns

FREE UK mainland shipping on all orders over £500.

We ship goods all over the world and select transport partners that can guarantee safety, speed and a competitive delivery price. For UK and International shipments we use all major freight forwarders and we can ship either standard or express (where available), on request.

Standard Shipping Rates from Funky Junk UK

  • UK £12 + VAT or FREE for orders over £500.
  • Europe starting from £40.
  • Rest of the World £75+.

N.B.: These rates apply to standard size products only, shipping rates for larger products such as consoles. studio furniture, analogue recorders, large monitors etc will be quoted when the order is formalized.

All outbound shipments are covered by insurance.

Delivery terms

Delivery terms are indicative only and intended to be a guide under normal working and supply chain conditions; in no case will any delay entitle the customer to a refund. The customer or their representative must be present to take delivery, at the place of delivery indicated in the contract and must sign all necessary delivery receipt documents.

N.B.: Orders placed during Christmas, Summer and Bank Holiday periods, may be subject to further delays. Please contact warehouse@funky-junk.com for an estimate of delivery times during these periods.

If the goods received are damaged or not as described, you must notify Funky Junk Ltd within 24 hours of delivery; Funky Junk Ltd will replace the goods as soon as possible. In this case, the customer waives any and all claims for damages.

Returns

All goods shipped by the customer to Funky Junk Ltd are to be at the expense of the customer and the customer is liable for insuring such shipments. In the case of theft or damage in transit, Funky Junk Ltd is in no case responsible if the shipment is not insured at the express request of the customer.
No goods can be returned unless authorized by Funky Junk Ltd. If a return is agreed, only properly packaged goods will be accepted. Said goods must also include all manuals, parts and packaging that were delivered in the first instance. Any deficiencies or damages will be charged.

Funky Junk are able to offer brokerage services for the opening of loans, long-term rentals and leasing to both companies and individuals.

Pricing

Prices shown are inclusive of VAT (unless otherwise indicated). The cost of transport, couriers and any insurance are always charged to the customer, whether shipping is conducted by a carrier affiliated with Funky Junk Ltd, or by a forwarding agent chosen by the customer.

Payments

  • We accept payments by bank transfer, cheque, credit card and Paypal.
  • We can organize leasing or financing from 6 to 60 months to individuals or companies. Contact us for a tailor-made financing quote.
  • Payments must be made by the agreed deadline (s) according to the agreed schedule. Any delay in payments will result in the cancellation of any agreed discounts as well as the application of default interest being charged in commercial transactions.
  • In a Hire Purchase sale, ownership of the goods remains with Funky Junk Ltd until full payment is made. The buyer, however, assumes any risks from the point of delivery. All orders or transactions, including online orders, are subject to approval by Funky Junk Ltd.
